Connecting your family to your food.
In this email, we’re excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks here at Mortimer Farms.
Farming is a dying profession, but it remains essential for the survival of all. Mortimer Farms is the last farm of its kind in our area, and every day we fight against the odds—working long hours, sometimes 12-16 hours a day—to protect this land and the food it provides. We are passionate about our mission to preserve agriculture and bring fresh, local food to the community.
As a special thank you for being part of our journey, we’ve hidden a fun giveaway in this email! You’ll have the chance to win six free tickets to our upcoming Blackberry Festival! We can’t wait to celebrate with you and share the magic of Mortimer Farms.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to what’s ahead!

At the heart of everything we do is one simple truth: food has a story—and it’s worth telling.
From seed to harvest, from pasture to plate, we pour our hearts into this land so that every guest who visits the farm can experience something real.
To see a child pull a carrot from the soil, to watch a family pick strawberries together, to share a meal made with ingredients grown just steps away—that’s the magic.
We’re not just growing food. We’re growing connection, understanding, and a deep appreciation for where our food comes from and the hands that grow it.
This is the heart of Mortimer Farms.
Connecting your family to your food—one moment, one story at a time.

This sweet family spent the afternoon picking vegetables straight from the field, exploring the farm park, and soaking in the beauty of a real working farm.
Basket in one hand, a handful of carrots in the other, and smiles that say it all.
These are the moments that become core memories—the kind you’ll talk about for years to come.

While this calf was soaking up the sun in the pasture at the ranch, we were checking fences and water tanks to prep the next rotation.
The solar-fed tank is full, the trough is working perfectly, and all gates are secured—making sure the next pasture is ready when it’s time to move the herd.
We also checked on the resealed trough in their current pasture—still holding strong. Just a small adjustment to the flow to keep water levels just right.
These behind-the-scenes details may not seem big, but they’re part of what keeps our cattle healthy and our land thriving.
And if you’re ever out on public land—please leave gates as you found them.

First and third generation farmers, side by side.
Loving the land is something we teach early around here—because it’s more than a job, it’s a way of life.

No words… just gratitude.
The June Farm to Table Dinner was something special—celebrating farming, food, and community with an unforgettable afternoon under the Arizona sky.
Huge shoutout to our field crew, ranch team, kitchen team, and venue staff for bringing it all to life with heart and excellence.
Each course told the story of this land—and every guest became part of it.
Plus, the July Farm to Table Dinner is sold out. Tickets available for the August dinner!

Baby watermelons!

Weekend after weekend, love stories are unfolding at the farm—and this one stopped us in our tracks. From the cottonwood trees to the lush green landscape and golden fields, it’s no wonder our calendar fills up.
Every corner of this property holds beauty, and this couple added their own unforgettable glow—radiant, joyful, and so deeply in love.
We’re honored to host these once-in-a-lifetime moments and watch our farm become part of so many forever stories.

What an honor and great responsibility it is to be caretakers of our animals!

Cucumbers!

She did it—she harvested her own food, right from the field!
There’s something incredibly rewarding about picking with your own hands. It’s hard work, but it connects you deeply to the land, to the farmers, and to the story of your food.
This moment? It’s more than just fresh produce. It’s appreciation. It’s perspective. It’s the beauty of harvest.
What an absolutely beautiful day, surrounded by our amazing community!

Every day, we tend the land with purpose- because feeding our community starts with honoring the earth.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring about the story of your food.
Thank you for supporting our family, our team, our farm, and Arizona agriculture!

Connecting your Family to your food!
The Heart of Mortimer Farms
We believe in being stewards of this planet and its resources. We believe in practicing smart and sustainable farming techniques. We believe that community and connection are at the heart of a good life. We believe in extending kindness, thoughtfulness, and hospitality to all we meet. We believe in embracing change and improving daily. We believe that experiences are far more valuable than things and that spending quality time together is the very best way to spend our time. We believe in discovering beauty, marveling in it, and savoring every moment.
We believe in preserving and honoring the importance of agriculture. We believe that as we share our story, we are also sharing the story of Arizona and American agriculture. We believe food is the thing that connects us all. We believe it’s time for the pendulum to swing back to the basics of slow food, shopping local, scratch cooking, gathering together, and buying directly from the farmer. We believe in “connecting your family to your food”.
This is the heart behind Mortimer Farms and the principles that drive us in all that we do.
